The V.I.T.R.I.O.L.U.M. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
The VITRIOLUM approach is a process used by Pierre Rancy in his work of providing coaching services to his clients. It is a process of self-reflection and transformation involving the exploration of one's innermost self and correcting any findings, ultimately resulting in the unveiling of the hidden core (Wilson, 2016). By participating in deep self-reflection, acknowledging and embracing both the great and negative aspects inside oneself, and altering those aspects that are not advantageous, individuals can uncover their own essence and underlying motivations (Johnson, 2018).
There are seven stages of the VITRIOLUM process, namely Visita Interiora Terrae, Rectificando, Invenies, Occultum, Lapidem, Universalis, Medicinae. The coaching sessions focus on understanding how these stages can transform individuals' lives by fostering sincere commitment and steadfast dedication (Smith, 2020). During the coaching sessions, the coach and the client develop practical guidance and real-world illustrations on how to employ the VITRIOLUM formula to promote lifelong spiritual development (Davis et al., 2019).
By engaging in the introspective process of VITRIOLUM, individuals can transcend their egos, gain awareness of their authentic selves, and therefore form sincere and empathetic connections with the external world and the divine (Jones & Lee, 2018). For instance, empirical research has demonstrated that individuals undergo significant changes in their relationships and spiritual affiliations following their involvement with VITRIOLUM (Wilson, 2016). The purpose of this endeavor is to improve the understanding of obscure customs and act as a valuable source for persons who are searching for genuine personal growth and spiritual enlightenment in the present era (Brown, 2017).
Throughout history, people have tried to find methods to gain a more profound comprehension and awareness of their inner thoughts and feelings (Johnson, 2018). Smith (2020) proposes that by improving our understanding of our own essence and composition, we increase our ability to lead more deliberate, meaningful, and fulfilling lives. The VITRIOLUM approach involves methodically and sincerely examining our own thinking (Wilson, 2016). The exact roots of VITRIOLUM are not definitively known; however, it has been widely used within various philosophical, religious, and metaphysical groups as a tool for attaining self-discovery and transcendence (Davis et al., 2019). We will examine and assess the claim that the use of VITRIOLUM methods enhances a stronger connection to one's higher self. In this context, the higher self refers to the essential and entire essence or soul of an individual (Jones & Lee, 2018). By adopting a broader perspective, individuals get the clarity to pursue life paths that align better with their true callings and achieve a more intentional and meaningful life (Brown, 2017).

Is spiritual coaching the right thing for you in your life at this point?
A spiritual coach helps people to connect to their desires, identify obstacles and take actionable steps toward their goals. However, a spiritual coach does this work in a more profound way, starting with the underlying root causes of an issue, block or disconnection. Using tools that allow people to connect to their deeper selves and the universe, a spiritual coach helps clients create more joy, purpose and overall satisfaction with their lives on a deeper level.
How spiritual coaches help their clients?
Clarity of purpose.
We all crave to know our deeper purpose in life. We want to know why we are here. When we feel misaligned, we want to know what the source of the disconnection is. A spiritual coach helps clients to explore where they feel misaligned in their lives and supports them in being true to their deeper calling.
Many of us walk around, feeling unfulfilled and unconnected to the work we do. A spiritual life coach helps clients to identify their real purpose so that they can increase their feelings of love, connection and abundance in their lives.
Connect to desires.
Sometimes people struggle to find their purpose because they don’t know what they really want. A spiritual coach works with clients to dig deeper into their subconscious to find out what they truly desire, not just what they think they want, or have been programmed to think they want.
A spiritual coach guides clients to connect to those desires to discover their purpose. A good spiritual coach helps people get clear on what they want so that they can make the impact they want in the world.
Make a plan to achieve goals.
One of the most valuable roles of a spiritual coach is that of an accountability partner. A spiritual coach helps clients to create a plan that is aligned with their desires and purpose. A coach will use tools and universal principles to help clients take the best action toward their goals. Clients will learn how to get the universe to work for them, not against them. Spiritual coaches encourage their clients to stay on track even when they falter so that they can achieve their goals.
Uncover blocks.
What is the reason many people are unable to determine their purpose or make progress towards that purpose? It is because they experience blocks, or internal forces like old wounds, stories and patterns. These obstacles frequently take charge and prevent people from moving forward in the ways they desire.
A spiritual coach assists clients in identifying their traumas, releasing them and opening up space for their deeper selves. Work will also focus on creating new, more aligned stories to take the place of the old, negative ones.
Overall, a spiritual coach works with clients to form a deeper connection to their true selves. Coaches help people to learn who they are, to love who they are and to accept wherever they are on their journey. Through deepening awareness and compassion, a spiritual coach guides people to rediscover themselves, taking control of their lives and making the impact they want on the world.
Spiritual coaches help clients overcome issues related to:
· Discovering their purpose
· Finding a fulfilling career
· Forming deeper relationships
· Achieving financial freedom
· Controlling stress and anxiety
· Managing health issues
· Creating overall peace, harmony and abundance
What Spiritual / Metaphysical Coaching is NOT
Spiritual/metaphysical coaching is not a means for the client to act upon or in any way influence other people, events and/or circumstances outside of him/herself. Our core belief is the metaphysical principle that has been taught for millennia in the ancient mystery schools, that is: “You experience who you are!” This means that the circumstances you are presently experiencing, the behaviors of the people in your life, the kinds of people you attract into your life and environment are the result of the psychic ambiance you have cultivated in yourself. This inner environment is constructed through a combination of the thoughts and feelings you entertain, the words you speak and the actions you take (or refrain from taking). These may be the result of the programming you received in your upbringing, your experiences in life (and the way you framed, understood, and accepted these experiences) and the decisions you made as a result of these experiences. This is why we use the VITRTIOLUM process to assist in identifying and rectifying these inner (subconscious) complexes. This process, in turn, modify/transmute your personal energy signature, and this modification is automatically projected into the universe which will, by metaphysical law, reflect what you projected back to you in the form of the life experiences and circumstances you encounter.
Spiritual coaching is not mentoring
Many people mistakenly believe that coaches are the same as mentors. The definition of a mentor is a person who provides guidance to others based on their own experiences. Many people seek mentors in the business world from others who have forged paths in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance or other disciplines. Students also seek mentors to help them identify their career and purpose.
Coaches do not provide advice or guidance to clients. Rather, they help their clients come to their own solutions through a series of tools and techniques. The coaching relationship is more about working together to help the client make the right decisions for them.
Spiritual coaching is not counseling or therapy
One of the most common misconceptions is that coaches are the same as counselors or therapists. Therapy often deals with the past. Therapists work with clients to explore past experiences and achieve healing and understanding. Coaches tend to focus more on the now and the future. The discipline of coaching is all about helping people from where they are at this moment and supporting them as they develop and achieve goals for a brighter future.
Spiritual coaching is not training
While clients are likely to learn quite a bit about themselves throughout the coaching process, coaching is not focused on learning. Training, on the other hand, is a learning discipline in which students receive information and knowledge to guide them in better understanding a topic. Coaches focus on the overall development of the individual through the use of tried-and-true tools and techniques.
Spiritual coaching is not a quick fix
Clients seek coaching because they need support in overcoming obstacles, achieving goals and making positive changes in their lives. These are lofty tasks that cannot be achieved quickly. Many people mistakenly believe that they can see a coach for one or two sessions and make the progress they want. While there may be circumstances where that’s true, it is not typically the case. The coaching relationship is not a quick fix and requires a great deal of time and energy to truly make the changes that one wants.
Spiritual coaching is not for everyone
Finally, spiritual coaching is not for everyone. If you are someone who is thinking about getting coaching, you want to ask yourself some very important questions:
1. Am I willing to put the time and work in to achieve results?
2. Am I willing to invest time and financial resources into my progress?
3. Do I need support in identifying and creating a strategy to achieve my goals?
If you answered yes to these questions, a spiritual life coach may be the right choice for you. If you want success for your future and are willing to put in the time and energy, life coaching can provide you with valuable results. If not, consider if a counselor, therapist or mentor may be better suited to your needs.
A spiritual coach partners with clients to make changes in their lives. S/he acts as an accountability partner and supporter who cheers you on, but also let you know when you are failing to live up to what you’ve committed to.
